Welcome! I too suffer from depression, but the mess are very helpful for me. It helps to be on the ones that work for you and not just a medication because it is there. I've been on a few that have not worked for me and they were a bit scary at times. I have had to have my meds modified over the course of time but without them, I would be in a very bad position, a position I do not want to be in again. Work with your doctor to find out what is best for you. The medications are not a cure all, you have to put in some work towards bettering yourself as well, but the meds do help, at least for me.

While this is just a mock up of a potential cabin layout, it really isn't all that far from the truth. The seats were bigger back then and you had more leg room. It wasn't until the fuel prices started to soar higher and higher that things began to change. The profit margin for an airline is actually very small so a difference of a few passengers can make or break a flights profitability. Hence the smaller seats and less legroom. Also, with the rising fuel costs, you started to see some key points of service being taken away. You can't get a deck of cards anymore, the in-flight snack has been significantly reduced if not removed all together, and the drink portions have been reduced if not removed all together. The airlines are no longer competing with service but with lower ticket prices. The industry, in my opinion, was never ready for deregulation. The major carriers had massive salaries and, prior to deregulation, they could pass on the increase in costs to the customer. After deregulation, they couldn't do that anymore. The market was flooded with new, low cost carriers that were putting a strain on the majors. The major carriers where convinced that the government would realize that they made a mistake and return things to normal. They went on massive expansion campaigns to gain access to as many markets as they could so that when things returned to normal, everything would be grandfathered in. It never happened and the major carriers have been struggling with their high costs ever since. While a low cost carrier can do very well in certain markets and can actually thrive, the major carriers still have there size as an advantage and the ability to absorb losses in certain markets where they feel they are being threatened and will use predatory practices to drive the low cost carrier out of the market or to the point where the low cost carrier is in such a bad position that it gets bought out by the major carrier. Since 1978, we have gone from around 7 or 8 major carriers to just 3 or 4. Fuel price is a critical cost for every airline no matter the size.

It is the hypocrisy that just amazes me. I went to catholic schools my whole life until college. I was also picked on, teased, and bullied all throughout those years. It never made any sense to me why the school did nothing about it to make it stop. All those trips to church and listening to the stories of doing to others as you would done to yourself just started a little fire inside me. That little flame would grow with each passing incident. I despise the catholic church now because of its hypocrisy. That little flame has turned into a raging inferno that wants nothing more to see the collapse of the church. While in school the principal, who was a nun, told my mom that if I decided to start a fight about being picked on that she would look the other way. I refused to stoop that low to confront violence with violence. That wasn't how I was raised and that wasn't the message they were teaching. In high school, I was getting pretty fed up with all the crap I was being put through. But I held to my morals. It wasn't until my chance to get into the national honor society that my hands became tied. I was refused entry into the society because I was too unpredictable and passive-aggressive and the school didn't know how I would respond to the teasing and bullying. There had been a former student that was going through what I was and just snapped. He beat a kid with some kind of rod which brought dishonor to the school and to the society and they were not going to have a repeat occurrence. My mom wrote a letter to the school stating that I was raised turn the other cheek and not use violence to solve problems. I told her that my hands were now effectively tied and I could not respond in any way or the school would say that they were right. I only got into the honor society because there were only a few eligible seniors left and we wouldn't have the time to dishonor the school or society. To this day, I don't feel like I got in based on my merits. This is what religion has done to me. I cannot deal with the hypocrisy of religion and religious people, it just angers me to see it.

You might want to talk to your doctor about what your feeling and experiencing. This medication might not be working for you. I was put on a medication and it felt like I was put on the sidelines while someone else lived my life. It was wierd. It was mean and aggressive and I felt like I couldn't do anything about it. I did what I could so that I wouldn't do something I would regret, but yeah, that medication was not for me.

My anger can get the best of me too. It's been that way for me for as long as I can remember. There was one time when I was about 3 or 4 when I was angry about something and I totally destroyed my bedroom. I knocked over my books and dumped out my toy box, there was stuff everywhere that you couldn't see the floor. I can kind of relate. Why is it that you fly off the handle? Or why do you think you do? I know for me I have a deep reserve of anger, rage, and hate deep inside me. I was picked on, teased, and bullied all through school. I never did anything to defend myself and if I did it only made things worse. If there are certain triggers that cause these bouts, I would say avoid them like the plague. I don't watch the news that much anymore and significantly limit my Facebook. It has taken me a long time to find when I am about to erupt like a volcano and stop the eruption from happening. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not. But I have had more successes lately than not. I'm pretty sure you could eventually do the same. Also, you're worth a whole lot more than you realize. As hard as it is to do, don't let others define who you are. I'm sure you're a great person who has a special talent as something unique. It may also help to see someone about these issues you are having. That isn't a sign of weakness, everyone needs help every now and then. If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to message me. You can do this.

I never really defied my parents, but I did defy my managers and supervisors at a company I used to work for. It was in health care and I had been trained how to do rebills of claims. This place was so backed up we would get repeat calls month after month. I continued to do the rebills after I was told not to do it anymore. The patients had a valid problem and were covered for the dates of service, so I helped them out the best I could. It was totally worth it. I knew I was doing what was right.
