MoA - Russiagate Is Really Finished

People don't understand how utterly dangerous this is. Let's take the Skripal case. Trump had been accused of being in Putin's pocket for months so when the CIA advised of options to punish Russia (still no evidence) he wanted to look tough so chose the most extreme choice; expelling diplomats. So is each of our rights to express our opinions in this forum The field is loaded as a ploy to have superdelegates decide the nomination on the 2nd ballot. The centrists are doubling down on their tone deafness as far as I'm concerned. The plan with Hillary was always to make her look better against a shitty candidate of their own making (Pied Piper) with some painfully tragic results. Trotting out the same failed game plan for 2020 is the height of insanity and hubris. F that S. Seriously.

Hillary wanted it both ways. She (and Schumer) said they didn't need progressive votes, at the same time they acted as if those votes belonged to her by default.

Biden. When Hillary was the Dem nominee (stolen imho, but whatever), people were openly stating they'd be holding their noses to vote for her. Not a ringing endorsement by any stretch of the imagination. Biden is more of the same. Dolt 45 rode the wave of anti-establishment sentiments in 2016. For Dems to boot him from office, they need someone to energize the base. Biden will not do that. In fact, he'll pretty much do the opposite.

A person’s individual godview is the most basic right possible that a human being can have. I personally reject Islam, Judaism, and Christianity (among others)…but do not reject Muslims, Jews, and Christians. A person’s religion and religious culture are most predictably based on their family of origin, where they were born (geography), and when they were born (i.e. no Xians pre-Christ). I stand with all people on the planet willing to work together as a species to live peacefully with each other and our environment. That does not change regardless of the actions of some who think their ‘godview’ justifies any number of horrible acts. I reject those who use such acts to demonize people who are damned for nothing more than ‘guilt by association.’" ~ LanceThruster

Do what you have to do. Humanists are supposed to be about letting their worldview go head-to-head in the arena of ideas, not operate from inside a bubble. I felt you occasionally brought up good points. I prefer that. One sharpens one's own positions by evaluating rebuttals and counterarguments fairly. You seem to want to merely "preach to the choir." When someone in here bemoans, "Why aren't there more Republican atheists?"... this is why. Even on simple inquiries not involved in trolling in the slightest, like when I ask you to offer some champions of your economic system you endorse I could read... not a single name (unless it showed up later). Instead, it's just the meme mindset of your Fox Noise watching elders. Just as puzzling, and just as easily refuted. But keep telling yourselves that you're steely-eyed pragmatists able to discern truth everyone else seems to be missing. It's no more compelling than any of the rest of the bunkum you've thrown against the wall hoping some of it will stick.

I see your point. However, HRC won the popular vote by 3 million. She would have won the election if Bernie Sanders had not received 12 percent of the vote. Ones that voted for Bernie or Stein, sabotaged the election and essentially walked DJT into the White House.
WilliamCharles replies on Apr 16, 2019:
It doesn't work that way. It was the job of HRC to give people a reason to vote *for* her. She didn't even bother to campaign in key districts Obama had previously won, many of whom wound up voting Trump. She and Schumer famously said they didn't need progressive votes as she would appeal sufficiently to moderate Republicans. And the popular vote gets you a consolation prize and nothing more. Her team knew how the contest was decided. They were so certain she could coast to the finish line, she hadn't even prepared a concession speech.

W.J. Astore "Give me five minutes, and I can tell you exactly what Bernie Sanders believes in. Single-payer health care for all. A $15 minimum wage. Higher taxes on the richest Americans. College education that doesn’t bankrupt families and leave students with crushing debt. Criminal justice reform. Investment in infrastructure and renewable energy. He gives specifics, and he’s walked a principled walk for decades. But what does the Democratic Partly leadership believe in? As this article at Truthdig put it, “Nancy Pelosi Believes In Nothing.” Of course, she does believe in something: her own power and privilege, which she seeks to maintain and expand. But principles like those held by Bernie Sanders? Forget about it. I’ve been reading Matt Taibbi’s “The Great Derangement,” a terrific book that came out in 2008, and Taibbi nails it in this passage (pages 243-4): The Democrats’ error was in believing that people wouldn’t notice this basic truth [that the party’s ideology is driven by power and nothing more] about their priorities. They were wrong on that score. In fact, a Quinnipiac poll taken around that time [2007] found the approval rating of Congress had fallen to 23 percent. Other polls saw the number plummet to the teens. The rating of the Democratic Congress was even lower than [George W.] Bush’s, and it was not hard to see why. Bush was wrong and insane, but he stood for something. It was a fucked-up something, but it was something. The Democrats stood for nothing; they viewed their own constituents as problems to be handled, and even casual voters were beginning to see this. If you substitute Trump’s name for Bush’s in the above quotation, it makes even more sense. “[Trump] was wrong and insane, but he stood for something. It was a fucked-up something, but it was something.” This is the biggest issue for corporate Democrats: What do you stand for? For so many in the establishment, what they stand for is themselves. The perpetuation of their own power and privilege. This is the biggest reason why Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. It was always all about her." https://bracingviews.com/2019/04/04/what-do-leading-democrats-believe-in/?fbclid=IwAR1dTM1hCUThDTelb0qaoiSsfCzsfGtp8IOt0WueRtBjrNQy4eo8PC4hJ0c

@TomMcGiverin The 7 years of lies about Assange won’t stop now 11 April 2019 "For seven years, from the moment Julian Assange first sought refuge in the Ecuadorean embassy in London, they have been telling us we were wrong, that we were paranoid conspiracy theorists. We were told there was no real threat of Assange’s extradition to the United States, that it was all in our fevered imaginations. For seven years, we have had to listen to a chorus of journalists, politicians and “experts” telling us that Assange was nothing more than a fugitive from justice, and that the British and Swedish legal systems could be relied on to handle his case in full accordance with the law. Barely a “mainstream” voice was raised in his defence in all that time. From the moment he sought asylum, Assange was cast as an outlaw. His work as the founder of Wikileaks – a digital platform that for the first time in history gave ordinary people a glimpse into the darkest recesses of the most secure vaults in the deepest of Deep States – was erased from the record. Assange was reduced from one of the few towering figures of our time – a man who will have a central place in history books, if we as a species live long enough to write those books – to nothing more than a sex pest, and a scruffy bail-skipper. The political and media class crafted a narrative of half-truths about the sex charges Assange was under investigation for in Sweden. They overlooked the fact that Assange had been allowed to leave Sweden by the original investigator, who dropped the inquiry, only for it to be revived by another investigator with a well-documented political agenda. They failed to mention that Assange was always willing to be questioned by Swedish prosecutors in London, as had occurred in dozens of other cases involving extradition proceedings to Sweden. It was almost as if Swedish officials did not want to test the evidence they claimed to have in their possession. The media and political courtiers endlessly emphasised Assange’s bail violation in the UK, ignoring the fact that asylum seekers fleeing legal and political persecution don’t usually honour bail conditions imposed by the very state authorites from which they are seeking asylum." https://www.jonathan-cook.net/blog/2019-04-11/julian-assange-lies-arrest/?fbclid=IwAR0CMsrqLPgqXrWX9ltyd1sfGKVz4S3qQBufIq0-Y-2SGRj-7UFeXvU81cA
