Do you ever wake up with an odd thought in your mind and wondered where did that come from?

Today I woke up with the phrase "inherently superstitious" in my mind. Too much Bingo at last night's banquet, perhaps?

I have, over the years, come to rely on the leap of insight that the herb provides. A lot of times, the insights are mundane, but sometimes, well... I've never had that sort of insight happen with bingo. But everyone has a different muse. I try to follow my instincts. I have made mistakes, but I never wondered what would have happened. But that's just me.

You could write the phrase down and then continue writing the next words that come into your mind; stream of consciousness a la Virginia Woolf, James Joyce and others. You'll be enthralled by what tumbles out

It might be worth a try. Decades of beleaguered English Lit students could be saddled with wringing meaning and allegory from my words. Or I could be flagged by FBI profilers ...

The FBI would love it. From what I understand the authors frequently have no idea what they are writing about. As for Eng Lit. You could contribute to more years of argument and debate as with Eliot's The Waste Land!

I wake up from dreams where all I remember is one line, or part of a line, and I'm saying the weirdest things.

Once I rememer saying in the dream: "Is it still racism even if I AM in a hurry?"

Another time I woke up with: "I’m so tired! Jesus ain’t knocking at my door. Hear that sound? That’s the sound of my doorbell not ringing."

One night I dreamt white text against a black background: “When Jesus was 100 years old, his disciples were still alive. And the ape slapped his ass.” To this day I don't know if the ape slapped his own ass or Jesus' ass... or Jesus' donkey. It's all so confusing.

They've stuck with me for some reason. Maybe because they were just so weird.

Those are very funny scenarios.

Yes and I try to remember to write them down.
Such as " I was in to equality when the corners were still beige "

First off..what is a bingo banquet?

After we eat, we play Bingo for prizes at the year end banquet for the stamp club I belong to. It's hilarious.

@pixiedust Cheers Pixie..Im going to wake up tomorrow with an odd thought for no particular reason..im guessing it might be Bingo Banquet! ?

@Hitchens It would be hilarious if you suddenly woke up and cried "Bingo!"

@pixiedust
Ok I just woke up...about 20 mins ago..hurrah! I didn't think or shout Bingo! The thought I woke up with was crusty fresh bread.... maybe I'm just hungry. ??

Ooh! Ooh! Yes!!

The other day I woke up with the phrase 'Carlos Fingers notwithstanding' in my head. ?

I think it's probably the sound of my own snoring being filtered into my dream.

Oh, that's a funny and very mysterious statement. Wouldn't it make a great opening for a spy/adventure novel?

I sometimes wake with horrible danger feelings like my kid drowned or grand babies got hurt who knows why bad dreams too many horror flicks i do know when the zombies come im the bait so the others can live

I read a study that suggested we feel endangered because dreams are governed by the amygdala, the more primitive part of our brains.

That’s from that hit song. Inherently superstitious, writing’s intrinsic to the wall. Inherently superstitious, ladder’s very nature is to fall. 13 month old baby, born predisposed to break the lookin glass. Seven years of bad luck, good things predestined to your past. When you believe inevitable things that your parents don’t understand, then you suffer. Inherent superstition in the way!

I never knew that! I'll have to look for the song on youtube.

The poster is writing s pastiche of the Stevie Wonder song Superstition

@pixiedust it’s by that deaf harpsichord player, Stephan Curious ?
