Confrontational? Me??? Many years ago, I concocted this phony magazine cover featuring the young me as an "Enemy of Organized Religion". Today, I display this cover in our guest bathroom in a spot where it just can't be missed (I'll leave the exact location up to your imagination), and I delight in watching new visitors' faces as they exit the powder room. Some smile; others look confused; still others look miffed. Having this item conspicuously displayed has come to serve as a kind of litmus test for would-be/potential friends. These days, having endured seven decades of human idiocy, I won't tolerate yet another religious nut in my life. If guests are not amused or at least seemingly unfazed by my message, they're outta here! Do you think me a terrible person?
