Interesting video but I think it short changes both genders by narrowly focusing on basal human traits. We all judge based on initial appearance and our own personal preferences. There are natural physical cues that evolution has engrained in us which indicate fertility; thus a better chance of our genes surviving into the next generation. Both genders respond to these cues. Scent is another cue that has evolved to indicate our genetic ability to survive disease etc. or so the one of the theories I learned states.

I'm not sure that internet dating benefits either more than the other. Honestly I think iy weighs more in favor of women, because it gives them a little more control over who they interact with without the fear of hurting a feeling or feeling threatened. Its Certainly not benefitting me at the moment. On average most people skew the facts because they want to impress or to be impressed. Be honest in your profile.

Yes for me I am looking for certain physical features that will get me to stop and take a closer look; in that sense I am typical of any animal. I then look at substance by reading the profile (possibly Atypical male).

I would ask How was this reseach conducted, variables etc.?

I appreciate your Insight. ?

Here's an interesting tid-bit.
I've been on multiple online-dating sites over the course of a decade. I don't change my pics very often, maybe about once a year or so.
However, I've noticed an unexplainable phonenomena. When I workout more often and am in good shape, more women make initial contact even though my profile does nothing to show or indicate these changes.

Interesting.

@VictoriaNotes No, I'm stating an observation of an odd pattern.

@VictoriaNotes I'd be willing to put it to the test just to find out.

Really interesting. I've wondered how our technological advances have changed our bodies and brains but never in terms of sexual reproduction. Good post.

This is awfully shallow. I am skeptical.

The makers of this video would like to think so. But women go for looks and toned, athletic bodies too.

Maybe, but a man who doesn't pass the smell test won't get a second date.

my smell has often been described as offensive despite showering regular like clockwork once a month.

Interesting but if it is because men are more visual, or at least use that sense for choosing a mate online, we already know that old photos are used, weight and height aren't often stated exactly, and age is massaged a bit. I'll be happy I'm female and have my nose as an indicator.

@Shelton I've met men like that too. I can't figure out why anyone does that because once you meet, the jig is up.

I thick it is often due to people not accepting themselves in society. I know I am no longer a twenty something although I often act like it. I do not see any reason to hide something that is so obvious. Most of us are set in our ways and surprises like that we are not programmed for. If I want shock I will go to a good movie of that venue. I am also a survivor. Facts are important to me and I hope they are important to you. Games are for players.
