We all know how great it feels to receive a compliment. What was the best compliment you’ve received?
I've had a few. But the one's I mostly remember. My son told me once that the best thing he got from me was, that he could do what ever he set his mind to do. the other was from my daughter that without me she would not be the person that she is today. Both of my kids are very caring kind thoughtful people, and are doing very well for themselves, and try to help others around them. And the truth is I have received more from them, then what I have gave them.
When my kids tell me how proud they are of me for what I've made of my life post divorce. How I have stayed strong and not compromised. Also, when someone on here tells me how I've helped them, that just makes me teary. I like to build people and encourage them. We all need someone in our corner giving us encouragement.
I work in a nutrition dept at a hospital. I had someone this past week, find me thru mutual friends (small town) and thank me for the kind words I had offered two years earlier. It was humbling. To take the time to thank me, for something I felt was so simple to give, after so long really touched my heart. Her mom was hospitalized, while I don't remember the interaction, as it was regular for me, I guess I went out of my way to offer her comforting words, which stayed with her. Best compliment I have received by far, being thanked for my empathy and compassion was huge to me.
I have had many i too was told of my childrens manners when small and i see my daughter now being kind and respectful to my brother who is sick and very demanding
