I've already posted this in the Folk and Traditional music group, but I think it deserves a wider audience - a brilliant transcription of Morricone's music for the movie "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" by the Danish Symphony Orchestra.
Wow! I learn and hear so much on this site!
(What is that instrument that looks suspiciously like a water radiator?)
Hey Peter, I love Ennio so much I put him in by Bio!
That was wonderful!!
I also love the spagetti western genre. I really admire Clint Eastwood in the role of the man with no name, however he is a dissappointment to me as a human being. His politics, and world view are an abomination to me.
Did you know that the vast majority were not filmed in Italy (Spaghetti land) but in Spain, mostly about 45 minutes drive from where I live. Often, in these movies, I recognise the area. Many of the extras in the film were played by local people I knew.
(I use the past tense as many have since died or moved away.) Famous films like Lawrence of Arabia and the Guns of Navarone were also shot on location here.
WOW! Years ago we played a bonfire for a University of Texas football team. We did a song my brother wrote called 'The Outlaw Song.' In the middle of the song we played The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. The UT marching band was in front of us, facing us. When we got to the G,B, &U they played it with us impromptu. It was fucking awesome and very moving. Thanks for bringing back that memory. ?
I really happy it revived such memories.
What a great story!
Thank you. Quite amazing. Savage, as I like to say.
Incredible ,
