You may want to seek a medical opinion about this weight loss....

I go to my doctor regularly. He is the whole reason I got started with this. I fired my last doctor because he said Evolution was just a theory as if that meant it was only an unsupported thought. My new doctor came in looked at me, shook his head, took my blood pressure shook his head again. Looked at my blood work and said, Holly mother of Jesus, you're a freaking moron. I knew right then that I liked him. He followed that with, "Paul, you're fat, and you're stupid. You better hope you die when you stroke out because if you don't die you're going to be trapped in that sick, fat body of yours waiting to die and we can't do much to fix you after your stroke. He made me go to a nutritionist, and he said you need to lose 100 lbs. So I'm losing 100 pounds.

You look fantastic. There is a radio personality that lost a lot of weight like you did the same exact way. But there was a catch to it. You have to go a center that says they can help you to lose weight without exercise. It was all about coming to this place and they would show you how to lose weight. I heard it was expensive and it was pretty many miles from where I lived. What ever you did to lose the weight you definitely look super great. Keep up the good work... and smile more for the ladies.....

Yeah, that sounds like a scam to me. It's not that hard, but it will require some discipline. I figured out how many calories my body consumes per day and I eat fewer calories than I burn. I also changed my eating habits. I eat high protein and foods high in good fats, like Salmon, tuna, walnuts, Avocados, peanuts, Extra virgin olive oil, and many other foods. It's just a matter of eating the right foods and if you do that you lose weight without being hungry. I still allow myself a steak and potatoes, ice cream and chocolate cake, but not every day and smaller portions.

@paul1967 That is dieting when you change the way you eat, what you eat and how you eat.

@buzz13 @Faithless1 I define dieting as a temporary change to obtain a goal. I'm not doing that. I've educated myself on what is healthy and what causes me to gain weight. The science has come a long way in the past few years. I'm "permanently" altering what I eat. I still allow myself to eat Ice cream, cookies, chocolate cake, beer, wine and other things not associated with the traditional diet. What I'm not doing is eating cookies and a big mac and then a bag of chips and a coke. I'm eating salmon, beans, broccoli, carrots, blueberries with a glass of wine and piece of cake. I don't eat cake every night, but when I feel like one, I don't stop myself.

@Faithless1 I used a BMI & Calorie Calculator. You can Google it to find out how many calories you burn. If you have a goal weight find out how many calories you burn at that goal weight and then talk to a nutritionist about what foods are healthy, "DONT" assume you know, trust me when I say you don't know. If you go it alone, you will no doubt deplete your body of essential vitamins, and you will feel like you have no energy and you will revert to your old eating habits. When you get educated on the correct foods, you will feel much more energetic, and living that way will be effortless after you get accustomed to it.

@paul1967 @64 weight doesn't fall off of me at that rate. It's also a matter of what else you do. I am no longer in the working class. I go to the pool and exercise so my knees get stronger. I did go to the pool and exercise 4 days in a row. But then that leaves me exhausted and feeling like a zombie. I have changed my eating habits and incorporated more vegetables and a lot less protein. I think what I am doing is a slower way that may get slower results. Everybody is in a hurry to lose weight fast. What works for one doesn't always work for another, that is why there are so many diet gimmicks out there. Also for health reasons, I do not eat anything with salt in it. This is one of the biggest culprit of heart disease. I do wish you the best in this new weight lose that you have accomplished. It seems to be working well for you...

@TweedleDee I honestly wasn't trying to suggest that you could or should lose weight supper fast. I was unbelievably overweight and when you're as overweight as I was weight drops off very fast. In the first few months I dropped 18lbs a month (8 lbs of which was water weight) as I've gotten closer to 175 the weight has dropped off more and more slowly. It's been 8 months and I dropped 80lbs which would suggest I'm dropping 10 lbs every month, but I'm not. Right now I'm dropping 4.5 lbs a month in a few months it will be 2 lbs a month. The speed isn't important at all. My whole point for talking about this wasn't to brag about my weight loss it was to tell people who want to lose weight how to do it. My problem is I can't directly tell specifically you how to lose weight because everyone is different. I can tell you that I had my mind blown when I finally understood why I never could lose weight in the past. I got educated on how our bodies metabolize food and why what you eat makes a huge difference. The things I learned about insulin changed everything for me. I finally understood why what was happening to my body wasn't my fault. I understood why my ankles and wrists were swollen, why my knees hurt all the time, and then I learned what I could do about it. Don't let anyone tell you that this new diet is going to change your life because even if you succeed you're damaging your body, and you're suffering unnecessarily. Go to a nutritionist and educate yourself. Here is a great video that explains it and this alone only tells you a little bit. There is so much more a quality nutrition specialist can teach you.

@paul1967 Thank you Paul very interesting video. Medicare is coming up for me, I am definitely going to look into this. I love learning new and different things. I appreciate you taking the time here to explain everything. I believe you are proud of how this turned out for you and I am very happy that it did. This makes me more eager to accomplish one of my goals...

Yes I did something similar after my divorce, it fucked me up royally, my health did not recover fully for nearly a decade.

I went to a nutritionist, and I'm not fucking up my body at all. I learned why I was gaining weight and how to eat healthier. It's a very very bad idea to think you know how to eat safely and that is the difference. I got educated first.

Must be a miracle

Look below for the scientific answers. I'm sorry but I've explained it ten times, and I'm pooped out.

@paul1967 a miracle of science

My brother in law dropped about 30-40 pounds in 3 weeks and then he died. You telling us you are sick?

First I'm sorry for your loss. No, I went to a nutritionist and got educated on how to eat. When I say I'm not dieting, I'm saying I'm not temporarily changing my eating habits to obtain a goal. I now understand why and how weight gain occurs and I've permanently changed my eating habits.

@paul1967 I salute you. I started to dislike anything fried, something that annoys my sister because she is a frying queen. You are doing it the right way!!! Education is Power.

Big change! Congrats!

? Do Tell...

Are you ill?

I was ill, but I was eating junk food all day. I feel much better now.

You should see a doctor.

I go to my doctor regularly. He is the whole reason I got started with this. I fired my last doctor because he said Evolution was just a theory as if that meant it was only an unsupported thought. Depends on what your definition of a diet is. Is just not eating a diet?

I'm stuffed every day. I eat different foods. I eat healthy foods, and I'm enjoying them more than the junk food I once ate. It's more work to eat healthily, but it's worth it

say what?

Wow! I have lost 30-40 pounds in 4 months, but that was with some relatively strict dieting: 6 out of 7 days a week, and substituting turkey, salmon and chicken burgers for beef on the 7th. What'd you do, chop your head off? 😉 Need to update yr photos.

Way to go! ?

Congratulations on your weight loss. I get the confusion people attach to the word 'diet'. I changed my way of eating in February. 65lbs lost as of this morning. Take care.
