I've done a lot of traveling over the years and lived in a lot of different places, I can tell you that this is a very true statement from a man who knew what he was talking about. So much of the fear that is instilled in us by the media just fades away when you actually go and see for yourself that humans are all the same and there is nothing to be afraid of.

Indeed, people around the world are more alike than different. I lived in the middle east with a Muslim family for a year. They are good people who go about their business like we do. Go to work, send kids to school, take care of house and cooking, visit relatives, attend weddings, etc.

Most Americans have not traveled abroad and are very narrow minded. They base their views on what they see on TV. There is no better education than travel. Seeing is believing.

It is and always has been a very small portion of humanity that fucks it up for everybody. Most people around the world just want to live their lives.

Yep! My dad lost his friggin' mind when I called him up to say i was going to Bahrain to work for a couple weeks. Didn't help much that he wasn't home, so I left an upbeat voicemail shortly before takeoff. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed my time there!

Why not go and take a job in another country, even if it is only for 2 weeks? A good experience and good money, sounds like a good deal to me.
