So, its 3 in the morning and I have some bad insomnia. So far, clocked about an hour of sleep. I don't know how I'm going to power through tomorrow, because in 3 and a half hours, I'm suppose to be up. Shoot me. Just shoot me.
I used to have insomnia some nights. After trying many different things, I finally just turned the radio by my bed to NPR, and figured if it didn't put meto sleep at least I'd learn something. Gradually my insomnia just went away on its own. I still listen to NPR when I go to bed though.
I had a stretch of really bad insomnia for about six months a few years back. Visualization exercises and relaxation techniques got me out of it in less than a week. There are videos on You Tube to help out with falling asleep when your brain won't shut down on its own.
I used to have insomnia a lot in my twenties and thirties. There are tricks to get yourself to sleep like relaxing techniques. Basic stuff like being in a dark room without the TV on. Sometimes you have to get up and do something different for 20 minutes or half and try again. I am sure these days you can find solutions online. I recall the hospital I work at had relaxation cassettes they would give patients. Instructing you how to tense and relax muscles from one end of your body to the other. A majority of the time it worked for me.
My mind won't stop. I can never sleep. I only pass out or suffer weed naps.
I'm sorry you can't sleep. Neither can I. I'll hum a soothing tune for you if you hum one for me.
