Just think of the thousands of people that have died over the plant. The war on drugs just ruined thousands and thousands of young kids lives.

With Trump in office you have to be high right?

No way, it has been legal in Colorado for years and the police are getting more corrupt every year. They are using it to break into homes with illegal searches and the judges and magistrates are signing off on search warrants based on no proof at all but only lies! The big thing here is now pulling people over for DUI's and trying to claim they are high on weed. The marijuana industry has opened up a whole new way of screwing over the people who voted it in! The police are not concerned with being better for the people but more concerned with bettering their careers. I have seen it firsthand here in Colorado. The most corrupt police here are in Teller County where even the other counties officers talk of how corrupt the Sheriff's office is there!

I don't hold much hope. It's legal in WA state, has been for years, and we still have a lot of police corruption.

I think it may inspire more trust in the police if they are after criminals rather than pot smokers. I was raised in a pot smoking but otherwise law abiding family and the police were not to be trusted. They were the other side. It will make it so the police are not the enemy for a large portion of the population. It will be easier for them to do their job.

My thoughts were about all the decent people who have been put off joining the force because they would not arrest someone for pot.
I once asked a question to my friends "Would you like to like next door to a policeman?" The unanimous answer was a resounding "No". I then asked "What if you lived in Amsterdam?" They had to think hard about that one.

No, not unless they incorporate better vetting processes for law enforcement. The problem is, not many people want that job, so the pool of recruits is limited to start with.

I doubt it, I reckon they'll still prohibit officers from partaking much like the military. Though it will, at least, end a string of silly arrests over a plant.
