So I have a small business. So small, nobody cares or knows about it.
I paint miniatures for tabletop games, like Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer 40k. I also make buttons, pins and even use perler beads to make other items.
Kind of feels like my business is pure luxury and it's going no where fast. I learned to paint from an award-winning painter and even did a few jobs on my own while working at my previous job but posting on craigslist is a failure and so is telling game stores.
Any suggestions?
I've never painted a miniature in my life.
Someone who paints a specific commissioned piece is great for those of us with little ability to get our head cannon vision into reality, but admittedly yes, it is a small niche market.
My biggest issue with minis isn't painting them, its finding what I want. does no mini company put out sets of things we will actually use?
Goblin or orc raiding party, mercenary of different player races, random village townsfolk, or even a 1st level starter set of 10 figures of different race and classes?
Btw, you can find my facebook under Dark Designs Inc.
Have you thought about eBay or Amazon? There are other selling sites like letgo Mecari offerup 5miles My brother uses eBay and seems to do well he just sells stuff he acquires from estate sales.
I am about to do Etsy, but the bigger issue is that when you paint these, as I do, people who play these games generally tend to need someone to paint their whole armies or something. They all gotta match. All the ones in the pics are just mine for dnd and examples of my work.
@Transprincess You could add a caption to your seller profile that detailed such a skill.
Didnt think of that. Thanks!@azzow2
