I feel so lucky to be British when I read about healthcare in USA. Our National Health Service is wonderful (even if this present Tory govt. is running it into the ground). All citizens of working age pay a National Insurance Tax and that is used to fund the health service and also State Retirement pension. The health service also gets topped up by the govt. That gives us healthcare free at the point of delivery, both G.P. and Hospital care. Some people have private health care insurance, but only the wealthy, and percentage-wise a very small number.

I've believed for a long time now that having money more or less accentuates who you already are. Cases in point: If one is inclined to spend or invest one's treasures into altruistic or charitable endeavors, riches can make them incredibly philanthropic (e.g.'s: Bill & Melinda Gates). If one measures his or her worth by acquisition of money and capital, regardless of the method or ethics... Aw, *&^%$#@!!!
