There are certainly different standards for civility. Trump can say "Lock Her up", "grab em by the pussy, singles out journalists for his special ire, and I could write a page on just what I remember off the top of my head but when the owner of the Red Hen asks the spokesperson for the liar-in-chief to leave her restaurant now that's being uncivil. Democrats need to grow a backbone and I do respect the lady for having one.

Trump "seems" to garner a lot of criticism, which truly any modern president could say. However he also has caught countless breaks. It comes from the fact he spews such an avalanche of atrocious shit that his critics are forced to choose which select few to challenge, while the rest sail on past with little scrutiny. NONE gets anywhere near the level of scrutiny that his opponents have faced for relatively modest scandal....(email-gate, anyone? Or how about being too chummy with wall street banks? Or any of his other financial conflicts of interest?) Couple that with supporters who ardently believe in everything he does, by virtue of who he is, being at least excused and often praised, even though his predecessors were figuratively crucified for essentially similar things. Trump's is an example of cult of personality. Policy doesn't even seem to matter for his biggest supporter group (evangelicals). They just "know" on faith that anything he does is "part of God's plan" and assert on faith that his presidency is divinely annointed. "God chose him to be president." Therefore, none is allowed to criticize. Funny, they never accept the idea that the previous president's tenure was also part of God's plan.
