What I can't figure out is how do these people from Medieval times gain access to the internet ?

When I was in high school my history teacher used to say that about 10% of the people believe in anything. He used to say that some people believe Hitler is still alive living in Simi Valley, CA. I wonder if the percent of people with crazy conspiracy type beliefs may be the same as previous decades when they didn’t have the same exposure with social media and the internet.

And you thought religion was ridiculous, there are people out there who actually think the earth is flat.

Although I think a lot of it is people who don't believe the earth is flat saying it is just to get people riled up. But flat earthers are definitely out there. That is what a lack of education produces.

I start all discussions with two questions: 1. How old is the Earth and 2. Do you believe in Evolution. If I don’t get the right answers to those two questions I end the discussion because they are not worth my time.

Maybe I need to add a third question? Is the Earth round?

I hear about this and I can't believe that a significant number of people actually believe this. Boggles my mind. You'd think we would have discovered the end of the earth by now if that was the case.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say, my sister is one. No matter what evidence I give her to the contrary, she refuses to understand. It's literally like talking to a brick with those people. They usually all think evolution is a lie too.

I have a few social media connections with these kind of people. Mostly awed at the idea so wanted to see their evidence. Interesting stuff to a degree. If people can totally refute science as a huge scam imagine how deep anyone can go believing nonsense.

That's a great graphic! Unfortunately, the ignorance and denial is out there and seems to be gaining strength. We didn't go to the moon is another one, and the climate change denial (as well as ignorance of science in general) is very discouraging and dangerous for our future.

I thought it was a joke and everything I'd heard about it made me think of it as such. Now I'm seeing the occasional youtube video or FB comment about it from people who seem to be taking it very seriously. It's actually a bit scary people would still believe this in this time of technology and information that we have.

It amazes me how ignorant some people are.
