I love the excitement of going to the grocery store the day before a holiday! You know what I mean... the races to be the first in line... the shoving matches... the whining! It just doesn't get any pettier than this! 😕

Indeed it must be fun to watch.

Not for the poor workers, I'm sure!!!

@SukiSue yes I can’t even imagine what they have to deal with. I suppose they must find the humor int it.

I can understand how shopping in general, for merchandise, can create havoc (black Fridays) for shoppers, but how does shopping for groceries, which is pretty much an every day necessity, enter into this?

The day before a holiday, particularly one that evolves around a food laced event causes an overwhelming crowd of shoppers. The lack of carts, long lines and high level of noise can wreak havoc on one's nerves!

@SukiSue I have never experienced that.

@jlynn37 Perhaps you are in a very rural area?

Spoken like a true masochist LOL

LOL!

Ugh. I am a worker in the midst of all this chaos. People show who they really are whilst participating in societal rituals. 😕

I don't know how you do it.

@SukiSue lol...most days I don't know how we do it either! 😀

Lmao!!

One of the perks to working the night shift. I can get what I need while everyone else is clocking in.

Oh nooooo you reminded me that I need to run to the liquor store. I should go now... tonight it will be insane.

which is why I avoid grocery shopping...panic attacks in public add to the excitement...ugh

I think I even felt a tinge of that!

As someone who worked - managed grocery stores in Pa., yes it sure is exciting. it's like juggling oranges all the while roller skating down the aisles trying not to smash into shoppers and answer all the questions while filling that out of stock item and cleaning up the mess of someone who just dropped a bottle of wine while you punch the cash register and load the shopping cart to escort them out of the parking lot and then jimmying the car door because they left their keys in the car. Whew, yeah it was fun.

We never think of the workers! 😟

I avoid shopping near holidays. I perfer to shop for groceries Sunday morning. Although more people are also adopting that.

Okay, I got a drafting table for 50% and then a 15% military discount added to the 50%. That was my type of excitement!!!! Shipping it to Las Vegas without unpacking. Patience, patience.

You mean on a holiday sale?

@SukiSue Oh yeah, I was ready to buy it at normal price. But the fact you can squeeze fun out of the masses induced by a holyday attitude speaks of you as a "fun person". Enjoy. Normally I don't do holiday shopping with very few exceptions.

@GipsyOfNewSpain I have never heard of someone using the holiday masses for anything good! Kudos to you!

@SukiSue Oh thank you.... the sale was at Michaels, so the fact that it was an Art Store made it off the grid for the Holiday Mob. Location, location, location.

The "Fun", of shopping just before Christmas, the Mom's who will kill to get the hottest Doll,Game,Play station,or whatever their little monsters desire that year.Hand to hand combat for the lowest prices, and when you walk out to your vehicle, how a small pack of cars will shadow you for your spot. When I lived in San Diego,I'd take my motorcycle to Christmas shop, parking in little tight spots, get in to the stores, make my purchases and get out,

The best thing about motorcycles! And yeah. Holiday shopping is out of control.

The only thing better is going before a major snow storm is predicted. Then you get the added fun of cold and snow!

Groan!!! Yup!

@SukiSue I had to look and see what state you are in before I posted to see if you would get what I was talking about, lol

@Marcie1974 I always do that just to see! People must think I am a peeping Tom! lol...

I still need wine coolers but I think the crowd will be a little more mild...? 🍸

Good times! ?

Old women are the worst! Hacking your ankles with their shopping trollies and giving you THAT look in the line at the check out! 😀

I think you may be right!!!!

Old white rich ladies are the worst!!

@patchoullijulie I've been trolley-hacked by old ladies of all social levels and ethnicities!

Thats just the kids too....lol.

What kid want's to be in an overly crowded grocery store moving at a snail's pace for an hour? 😟
