Got the news that a close friend has inoperable brain cancer. It was really uncomfortable talking to him on the phone while he spelled out his ordeal over the last 4 years. Makes my annoying health issues fade to nothing... Just remember folks, every day above ground is a good one.

You must feel like me that we are losing friends faster we can make new ones.... and don't we miss all the baggage of old friends? My Best Thoughts!!!!

Evidently you have not been through some of the days that I have.

Right there with you on that. I have a close friend facing his own mortality with less than 3-6 months left, if that. He maintains positivity nonetheless and in doing that, makes me feel everything else in life seems small. Not an easy thing to hear or handle being a friend or family member, much less dealing with it personally. Just being present is sometimes the most important thing.

Sorry for your friend. Perspective is everything. Whenever I start feeling sorry for myself, I remind myself that no matter how badly I think I may have it, there are always others who have it way worse than I ever will.

My sympathies to you and your friend in your difficult times.

Yes. Every morning that I wake up and open my eyes, I consider that a success. So far I have enjoyed pretty good health and often think that everyone else is faring just like me. I have to remind myself quite often that there are plenty more people in much worse situations than me at any time. Not that I want to sink to the bottom of the pit of human misery to expect sympathy from others.

Man, that's a tough diagnosis! I am sorry for all involved.
