The original Greek word in the Bible Metanoia meant to change ones mind or heart. Of course the word sin was originally an archery term which was used to describe the distance from the center. What ever you believe the result of death is, we are all returning to where we came from (center). Only repent if you didn't follow your heart. Don't worry about Dante's Inferno. The guy had issues.
