I think I see where you’ve gone wrong? Next time try cooking each individual grain separately, place a grain of rice in a tablespoon almost full with water and use a cigarette lighter to heat it from underneath, 2 1/2 weeks later when you have enough rice cooked to fill your bowl find a black bean.... Standby for further instructions.

Buy a healthy cookbook. Anyone who can read can cook.
When I was 18, my mother gave me "The Joy of Cooking." Read it cover to cover. I love how each chapter explains about the food:
"About Cakes"
"About Soups"
"About Egg Dishes"
"About Retaining Meat Juices in Cooking"
I learned to cook and bake whole-grain breads by reading and practice. Now I improve recipes and create my own.

I actually used to be a chef in quite a few resturants. This gave me an idea to post some easy, but really good dishes to make. Maybe some might be useful to you and others.
