I'm not sure there is any difference in honesty between theists an non theists. I could be wrong here but just trying to be "honest". I just haven't seen a scientific study on this subject and don't want to be hypocritical. I think a religious person is more obvious in his dishonesty because of his hypocrisy. That said I took a religious friend (preachers kid) as a partner in a plane that he talked me into and at the last minute said he'd have his share in two weeks. It's been four years now and the plane has been a disaster. Still waiting for his repayment. Still learning at my age.

There are many things that may have come up that prevented this couple from going ahead with an offer on your house, it doesn't make them dishonest. The realtor is definitely behaving in an unprofessional manner although technically not unethical as you are not their client. The professional thing to do would have been to ring you up and tell you that for reasons they cannot disclose for confidentiality reason, the people are not able to put forth an offer on your house at this time. Realtors like the one you just dealt with are the main reason that true professionals cringe when real estate agents claim to be professionals.

The problem with theists is that they believe that with a magic prayer they are absolve from any fault, from any "sin" , they're not responsible for their actions, like i teach my little daughter "first you say I'm sorry then how can I help" .

You are absolutely correct. I read a book a short while ago with substantiating facts along this line. It might have been The Undoing Project? Anyway, it's not your imagination! Data does not lie.

I have come to the same conclusion. They are much better at justifying things to themselves, which is how they still believe and they use those same justification skills to make whatever they want to do seem right.

I’ve concluded the same. Assuming these ‘family values’ type would have dropped their support for the most blatant liar and morally corrupt president of my lifetime … they cling to him even tighter! For all the hammering of Atheists from that side -- we’ve more morals in our thumbnails than these so-called ‘believers.’

I’ve the privilege of working with some college graduate age ‘youth,’ they’re full of questions ..and appear to value my opinions. Religion’s a jucy topic.. where all in earshot recently agreed with my observation that anyone ‘doing right’ for fear of punishishment apparently lacks the morals or values of those doing right of their own volition.

I’ve recently concluded - the religious are so good at accepting or proclaiming lies because they do it so often! Constantly lying to themselves about the existence of ‘a loving god,’ lying to anyone else - for any reason, appears to become natural. They make me sick. Lying to your face, behind your back, to their so-called friends, to their families…

In my youth, post college age.. along with my brother, we sought out and attended the American Atheist chapter meetings in Portland, Oregon … and wherever whomever met after that.. What I found instantly impressive what how honest and trustworthy these folks were ..realizing I could set my billfold anywhere within the room - and know it would be instantly returned to me if found. Truly the best..

The ability to pathologically lie is more innate to a real estate agent than a theist or atheist.

Sounds like something they say in the Handmaid’s Tale,.....creepy!
