That's a common misconception that I've seen a few people believe. However he is right that people should sleep more. Not getting enough will shorten your life.
I know, I do exercise (probably not as much as I should) but thought it was humorous. As for sleep, I get a solid 6 - 7 hours and feel well rested. I wake before the alarm goes off and have not heard it in years. They say 8 hours but I can't sleep longer.
Not actually the way things work. That, and being in good cardiovascular shape reduces your resting heart rate - so you would live longer. In case you were wondering.
