Ha, I just posted something about this! I’m in a Facebook cancer group that I find really helpful and encouraging, but on almost everything that people write there are quite a few comments praising God... I’m assuming they wouldn’t like it if I was constantly reminding them that “GOD” is the one who gave us cancer? Wish I could find a support group that focuses more on realistic aspects of being a cancer survivor, it’s frustrating when you’re looking for information and you’ve got to read all the bullshit comments about the Savior.

Yeah that shit annoys me. One time I was driving this religious guy around and I got a flat tire. I call roadside assistance and they come and they put my spare on. Well the religious guy spent the rest of the day thanking the lord for changing the tire. And all the while, I'm thinking to myself 'the person you really need to thank is roadside assistance!'

the worst is in Jordan when I was there if the surgery successful it goes like you said, but if not they blame the surgeon and sometimes they attack him

I don't know because without the surgeons you would be in a box. quite an insult I think.

why is the highest paid public servant in 20 states the football coach and not their head surgeon ??

REALLY good question. I find the more religious they are, the less credit is given to whomever. It's all about god in their heads. Maybe others have more input.

I've been at the shit end of that stick more than once, the most obvious example was fixing a piece of audio gear in the middle of an expensive recording session in Nashville. All these musicians, sound techs, backup singers where getting paid to sit idle while the producer was fiddling with his gear for a couple hours. I finally pitched in and phoned the support line for the piece of gear (a module plug-in for a Mac), and had it working in a couple minutes.

The soloist didn't say a word to me, jumped around the studio, waving his arms, praising god and speaking in tongues. Not a single thank you.

god didn't save my life-medical care did. The doctor and the nurses deserve all the credit. When are Believers going to realizethat?
