Hi there
Just sharing late night thoughts and feelings: though so lonely and suffocated but there's no way I could go back to that shitty religion... I just can't!?

You are probably just having withdrawal symptoms. Come in here and chat to us, we will be your therapists! No need to feel lonely, you are not alone and you are also much stronger than you think. You have freed your mind from the tyranny of religion and are now free to think great thoughts! Enjoy that freedom and never look back. ?

Awww thank you very much for your kindness, indeed I'm enjoying the freedom and will never look back!
I love chatting here.. can't believe I found you guys ❤

Yes! That! ?

Did your religion really make you less lonely & suffocated? I would be interested in hearing more. I feel lonely a lot too.

To some extent yes and for some reasons: first of all, socially I used to feel more accepted because I used to have the same beliefs as the family, friends and potential partners. Now that this changed, I find myself obliged to hide everything in our discussions as my ideas are always attacked back.
Secondly I used to practice prayers which sometimes made me feel a relief and that I'm not alone in this world.
Loneliness comes from fact that you're different and suffocation comes from oppression!
Hope this answers your question ??

@Dreamer777 Yes thank you. It has affected your ability to interact with others. I was wondering if you'd meant that god was keeping you company before, but if he was why would you go atheist. Sometimes it takes a while to find a new social circle. Good luck!

@Carin I'm not atheist, I'm more agnostic/ Dieist..x-muslim.. I guess that it takes time aa you said so maybe I should try to be more open to meeting new people who don't have issues with irreligiousness...

Also I want to encourage you to never go back if it's going to make you unhappy. It's not worth it

No my dear, I'm not going back anyways.

I feel you. I can't either. It's horrible. However, I understand the feeling loneliness. It's not comforting. It's a shame there aren't more people in the US willing to have a conversation without "God" being the center of it.

No only that.. they don't tolerate any agnosticism or atheism talk at all, regardless of their faith.

@Dreamer777 yeah it's crazy. I have a religious background but I was nothing like that. If I hear "Gods will" one more time. I'm gonna tell them about my will

@MrChange yeah lol

If I were going to go back to religion, I would become a witch. Chemistry, astronomy, geology, etc, all wrapped up in hoodoo & hokum.

Oh wow,
I'm impressed by your courage to say that it's all lies. Some people believe in magic...

Some would argue that witchcraft is not a religion but a practice of combining science and spirituality. Only those who seek religious factors find them in that.
