The insanity of "hate speech" laws. Combined with how muslims are now a "race" we are increasingly in the shitter. [jihadwatch.org]

It does not matter the source of information if it is true.

If Muslim is now a race then why can't Christians be a race? Maybe we can do something on all these damned forms and get rid of that word "other." Most of us would have to put the word "mongrel" down if it were on the form. I heard that the Nazis once thought the desired race was Nordic with blue eyes and blond hair. People were fast becoming like show dogs, horses, and cattle. The current administration in America is bringing that out again. People dumb as rocks are crawling out of the woodwork.

The government of the UK has made all this more crazy, by defining it a racist comment if one uses the words "islam" and/or "muslim."
Ben Affleck accused Sam Harris of racism just because he was speaking about the evils of islam.
This is craziness.

Just like "hispanic" is not a race.

@Jacar Much of it does get off into craziness. I'm afraid that the Alex Jones trial going on right now will push the USA more into areas of "hate speech" and get that going over here. If it happens we lose a lot of our freedom of speech.

You've been watching too much Lawrence of Arabia, Peter O'Toole was a great actor but the torture by Turkish muslims never happened in real life.
Still if this is your fantasy then have at it, whatever floats your boat. 😉

Everyone who clicks this link is giving russian backed fake news more attention.

Good idea. Don't possibly learn anything new.

@Jacar how much is Putin paying you? 3 potatoes? I bet I can match it. There is a reason why your sentences are written so poorly, you are trying to bate people, and you are hiding behind a drawing as a profile pic.

Here lets get this out of the way: Putin is a homosexual, Crimera was illegally seized by Russia, and Asaad used WMD in Syria. Go tell your KGB boss' that

@engineer_in_nj That is funny. Free speech and all that.
You really should do some research about what is happening in europe. And listen to Ayaan, and Maajid, and other muslims who know from the inside what is happening.

@engineer_in_nj we do not know that Assad did that. That is what we have been told by the US and UK dudes. More likely it was the US to increase the bombing.

@Jacar go back to moscow comrade. I knew you would take the side of that monster.

Did you graduate last at KGB school or something?

@engineer_in_nj Being all ad hominem discredits your credibility. Please learn something new.

It's mostly bullshit. It's an extreme right sponsored page that never likes to let the truth get in the way of a great tale about how butt-hurt and downtrodden the great unwashed are.

Information's credibility does not depend upon its source.

@Jacar Yes it does. It has to be true and accurate to be credible. Most of the information on this website is wrong, inaccurate and, in some cases, total fabrication. Sorting out the few accurate bits of information is difficult and hard to find.

@Uncorrugated The source of info does not reflect upon the credibility of the information.

@Jacar Really??
[theflatearthsociety.org]

@Jacar are you a russian?

I am sure you did not read, nor listen, to any of the observations. So, you did not learn.

@Uncorrugated The state of my backyard does not impugn the credibility of my observation that your backyard is trashed.

@Jacar What does the state of your backyard have to do with the price of fish? I have made no reference to your back yard, nor the state of it. If you haven't worked this out, it may explain why you fail to understand that the source of information has everything to do with how reliable it may or may not be. hence my reference to the flat earth society - do you beleive the earth is flat based on the information on their site? Or do you compare this against other sources of information to confirm or deny the claims?
The source you have referenced is promoted by a racist bigot who hates muslims. Most of the bile spouted lacks credibility - there is some accurate information about some extremists. But mostly it's just bullshit.

@Uncorrugated The saying "Clean up your own backyard" is what i am referring to.

That my yard is trashed does not in any way make my statement about the trash in your backyard any less correct.

The credibility of the sources of information do not discredit the information if it is true.
Fox often presents true information. But the idiots present conclusions that are not reasonable.

So, it is important to do our own research to ascertain what is true information and what are reasonable conclusions.

As you can notice, i have not just relied upon one source concerning the evils of islam.

My point for all of this is, the focus on attempting to stop people speaking about anything cannot be based upon how someone else "feels" about what is being said.

@Jacar The saying "Clean up your own back yard" is completely irrelevant to this discussion. You posted a link to a site that continually posts inaccurate and false information'
You posted one link and referred to hate speech laws. The information in that link is wrong and propagandised by a far right group that promote hatred of any non white group and immigrants.

Your original post uses one flawed source of information. The fact that Fox news can present true information and interpret it wrong does not detract from the fact that jihadi watch rarely presents accurate information and then makes idiot conclusions on false information.

But hey ho - it's slagging off muslims and promoting white supremacy, so it must be ok.

hate speech laws are not designed to prevent "free speech" (which we have never really had anyway) but is there to prevent the promotion of hatred and violence towards others and is mostly used against internet gtroll who threaten rape and violence against those whos views they disagree with. But being being from the states you obviously have better information than we have here in the UK.

Communications Act 2003, which makes it illegal to intentionally “cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another” They need to change the name of the law so racist bigots can more clearly understand it. How about they change the name to the Don't Be A Cunt Act?

Good. But, any prosecution for such speech is censorship. Who decides? And we can see what happens when those in power get afraid of someone being offended and then goes looney not attacking the problem, but those who are calling attention to the jerks.

@Jacar I will admit that there is the possibility of overzealous prosecution and injustices but at the same time I still have a little bit of faith in the justice system to mitigate most of those injustices. It is very hard for me to accept that people deserve the right to spew hate filled words at people they don't even know and who they vilify for problems they have nothing to do with - just because they are a bit different. I've met all manner of religious fanatics from every faith you can think of (except Zoroastrians but there are so few of them that it's not surprising) but I can't accept that we have to paint all these people with the same brush and tar and feather them. I grant that religious people are all a bit delusional but singling out the Muslims says more about a person's irrational fear and anger than it does about Muslims in general.

@Surfpirate the problem we are all having trouble with is a semantic one:
We are allowed to admonish "christians" for whatever they do. We get to say "idiot christian." But we are chastised for using the word "muslim" in the same way. That's bullshit.

I do not hate muslims. I do not hate christians. I do hate what many do in the name of their religional fantasies. And currently muslims are demanding, and receiving, special treatment. Just like the christers are trying to do, and getting, in the US.

So:: since muslims are NOT a race, since anything you can convert to is NOT a race, explain how to describe muslim behavior as i would christian behavior, without using the word "muslim?"

@Jacar The semantics are what is the basis for all these sorts of hatred because most of it is fictitious, especially RACE, outside of the human race there is no race except for the one's we invent in our minds and our hearts. We can pick nits on this topic all day but in the end we are just playing word games. Lose the fear, lose the hate and let's all try to have a good day.
