Both! Cut military spending and add to social services, arts and scientific research.

Both. The choice between is artificial.

5

Both..definitely both...even a scientifically progressive world would be sterile and dull without the arts..

5

Both. They are equally necessary.
It's about balance.

5

Both. They compliment each other.

The politicians should never make it an either/or issue. Both are essential for human health and development.

4

Both, not only because both are worthy of investment, but because development in one feeds growth in the other. Both are fueled by imagination of something that can exist which didn't before!

Both

Both are of equal importance in a society.

Why not both?

Both. It doesnt have to be (and shouldnt be) all or nothing. I think the tilt of higher spending should be towards science though.

How about both.

"Estimated U.S. military spending is $886 billion. That's from President Trump's budget for Fiscal Year 2019 submitted to Congress. It covers the period October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019. Military spending is the second largest item in the federal budget after Social Security. "

The size of US military budget is obscene, the money ought to spent on science, the arts, and medicare for all. No other country in the world spends this kind of money, closest is China whose 2017 military budget was $175 billion.

It's expensive trying to dominate the world economy.

Social Security isn't a budget item. SS comes from the trust fund that the congress has been raiding to cover the wars!

On the public. So, yes arts and sciences. Education is always the main key, since it's linked to opening career paths, healthier living, better communication and soo many great things.
I don't usually hear a lot of push back on that type of spending. The argument is usually that most don't see any results in the spending done. On top of that, they don't know how much or how it's distributed or used. I think that's usually the hang up. I've even had libertarians agree that if they knew exactly where their taxes were going and that it was on things in their community, they wouldn't mind paying them.

1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 art is worth it

Why not neither?

Public money should be spent on Art when a starving, homeless man crawls into an art gallery to view the art while he is dying.

Is Architecture Art or Science. Are Historical Paintings or Artifacts dated by Scientific Methods. Are Plants and Flowers subjects or artistic beauty or scientific study. Do Medical Books and other Scientific Publications without artistic explaination.
