I still feel ' quite in the dark here '... hope my experience here isnt being manipulated
by ' gawd knows who ' to conform to their god-like , all- knowing omnipotence as seems to be the way
that ' dating sites ' always function . Social engineering , big brother and all that . People who feel compelled to impose a moral authority over others seem to seek out positions that allow them to do that , don't they ...ugh ! But
I do wonder since I'm seeing so few younger persons , especially of the female persuasion if ive been algorithmically placed in the geriatric corner here due...to...my ... age . Ageism sucks too ya know . Some of us can't be defined by a number though ! Not that I give a rats ass whether Im to fall ' in love or something like it ' with a 25 y-old or a 45 y-old . I only discriminate based on personal character and general compatibility . But I do not like the odds of that happening if I never actually become aware of or come into actual contact with such persons . Ha ...omg . Yes , I do complain a lot ! But only when it seems necessary . Ha .

You need to calm down and get over yourself. 2 seconds perusing this site would show you the "dating" is a peripheral part only

But geesh , I already am extremely calm .

Don't expect anybody wanting to spend much time with you if you complain all the time.

Actually I like complainers , love , but only if theyre what I consider to be ' very good at it ' ha .
So , Im puttin it out there ...If a person is too apathetic , too passionless about their own existence to complain about things they think are wrong then I am not compatible with you !

@Scottzillyun And you have how many really good friends........

@Jolanta ...I have a lot of good friends but they tend not to be local cuz theres few ways to meet or locate local ppl where I live who arent looney members of the local religious cult ...thats why it sucks so much when a site like this is totally ineffective at helping you locate them .
I really think its a good idea to try and would really like to know why it isnt working so it can be remedied and made to actually work !

@Scottzillyun Well, makes me wonder. If you say you have good friends but they do not live locally, perhaps if they did they would soon get sick and tired of you whining.

Am I missing something? This is not actually a dating site is it? If it is I’m in the wrong place.

Well , apparently its not but a lot of us seem to have been led to believe that it was ...

@Scottzillyun Led to believe by whom?

@Marionville ...by the advertisement that initially sent me here , by the references to dating found throughout the site , by the unmistakable functional similarities to other ' dating ' sites , by the multiple other posts that I keep seeing from other ppl regarding the same thing ...etc

@Scottzillyun Obviously there are quite few who are hoping to meet up for a possible romantic liaison, but I think that is possibly a secondary objective. I wish you well in your quest, and hope you find a like minded partner. I am an older person, and am not here to find another husband | partner, and did not realise that it was regarded as a dating site when I joined. Whether or not you do find that special someone here, I hope you can enjoy the discussions with like minded people like me .

This site, is not as other dating sites, for one thing. It doesn't really put people together. That's pretty much based on your initiative.

The other factor here is that younger singles (20s and early 30s), in my observations, mostly don't go to a site like this because the name and description don't scream "dating!!" It's mainly a discussion forum with some dating features. So if you're looking for younger people with similar views, maybe you'd have better luck on a different site just specifying "agnostic" or "atheist" as a match preference. But even then you'll have tons of Xians thrown your way.

There's no foolproof solution, I'm afraid.

Hi, Scott,

By the way, this website also has a bit of a learning curve.

If you answer the profile questions and write your profile, listing your hobbies and interests, you'll earn website points, and members can get to know you.

Commenting on posts and writing your own earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.

The website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.

Many women prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find compatible partners.

In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also.
Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.
