Finally got a job after being unemployed for 2.5 years. Of course, 1 year of that was spent fighting cancer. I'm 6 months out now after completing treatment and ready to be active again. Starting slowly with a part time job. Hoping it leads to better things, but not too soon. I gotta get back in the saddle, but don't want to over do it.

I'm a cancer survivor myself, starting to get myself back out in the world since earlier in the year. Even though slow, it has been starting to get easier.

CONGRATULATIONS on recovery! I'm curious...do you explain the lapse in your resume? Or is it better to be quiet about having been ill?

I added volunteer work and created a company after my layoff for coaching and writing services. I was doing that before the diagnosis.I did a few small projects during treatment and recovery but not many. But it looks like I was employed. I did come right out and said I was a survivor. They hired me anyways. 🙂

@CopperPenny GOOD FOR YOU! Wishing you total recovery and years of health and happy times!
