Anyone into podcasts? Can we just take a minute to acknowledge the atheists on the front lines that we love? Noah Lugeons. Seth Andrews. Matt Dillahunty. Just to name a few. What are some of your favorite podcasts that are changing hearts and minds across the world?

As far as atheist activists, I follow Matt Dillahunty, mostly, with a mix of others like Hemant Mehta and Seth Andrews. I met Matt Dillahunty in Columbus once. 🙂

I am a podcast fanatic. On this topic, one of my favorite podcast was reasonable doubts. They don't podcast anymore, they haven't for a few years. But I went ahead and went through the catalog again anyway. Very very good.

The Atheist Experience was always a favorite, along with others that people have mentioned here.

Some that I don't see mentioned are Cognitive Dissonance and Irreligiosophy. They're both on the comedy side for the most part. Irreligiosophy doesn't record much anymore, but the early episodes were hilarious and informative. Many discussions and explanations about things that would otherwise take a lot of research to find out about.

Cognitive dissonance isn't available on my podcast app. Which is very disappointing, because I love Tom and Cecil. I listen to them with Noah, Heath and Eli on Citation Needed. Which is pretty much my all-time favorite.

An excellent podcast is “S-Town”. It’s not just about religion but.....you’ll see.

I've listened to that one before. It's good

I am very old and technologically illiterate... What is a "podcast", please?

A podcast is like a pre-recorded talk show, like a radio show, that you can subscribe to and download / listen to on demand. You'll get notified when there are new episodes available and you can listen whenever you want.

@EddieDean In other words, one more damn piece of technology. (Even as I realize the irony of writing this on a computer.)

@Paul4747 Correctumundo!

Technology is a love/hate relationship for me.

@KatieO Know what I miss? 8-track tapes. 😀

@Paul4747 I had cassettes.

@KatieO Before your time, I guess? I had 78 rpm vinyl, 33, 45, 8 track, and finally cassette. I hope CD is the last thing I need to buy... but I doubt it.

@Paul4747 everything is digital now. No need for CDs. ?

@KatieO It sounds better on CD. 😀

I like Seth Andrews at The Thinking Atheist, but I guess I'm a bit of an asshole since I much prefer the Scathing Atheist and The Skepticrats. Lol.

On a side note, anyone else here a member of the Godless group on facebook?

I love The Scathing Atheist.I don't get the Skepticrat on my podcast app, though.

@KatieO I use Stitcher, and it has all of their shows available. You might try it. ?

Is Stitcher free?

@KatieO sorry, I know this was an old comment. I just never saw it. Yes, Stitcher is a free app. ?

Well, yeah...watch matt and crew most weeks...love the show...(my only worry, at times, tracy interrupts and hogs the conversations too much...?)...but neil degrasse tyson, (sp)...lawrence krause, sam harris, etc, etc...and i know, they don't have official 'podcasts' but still admire their views and thoughts...

They contribute in other ways, so they're definitely worth a mention. I do agree with that point you made about Tracy. She does that on the Godless bitches podcast, too.

It's not an Atheist podcast, but one of my favorites is the Joe Rogan Experience. He's had many great guests, from MMA fighters, to CMD. Chris Hadfield (astronaut), to Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

I have two primary podcasts that I listen to. Thank God I'm Atheist is my favorite [thankgodimatheist.com] I sometimes listen to Seth Andrews, but that depends on the topic - he is a great broadcaster but his show topics don't always hold my interest.

Ask An Atheist is my second "go to" [atheist.radio] it is a show local to me, and some of the guest hosts are with my local atheist/skeptic group, so I usually listen to them too.

That really cool that you have locals that contribute.

@KatieO we have a great group of people, I am very fortunate.
