Did you know that Charles Darwin, I think it is at the end of 'Origin', mentions the Creator in the context of "First Cause.
Charles Darwin was not an atheist. And he also knew that his publication would be controversial in his Anglican community, to say the least.
A fantastic disclaimer,?
So what?
It's not remarkable that a scientist at that time would refer to god as not to do so would result in ridicule/excommunication and isolation from his peers.
Gawd! Just sayin'!
@Geoffrey51 Oops!
It wasn't meant to sound rude or brusque (just read it back and it does!)
@Uncorrugated not a problem?
I didn’t know that. I read somewhere that, when asked if there was a God, Darwin replied that he didn’t know and that he did not feel qualified to give an opinion.
