"I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hate so stubbornly is because they sense, once the hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain." -- James Baldwin

Nothing will ever replace the hate I feel for people who abuse and kill animals for "sport" and mock the lives/deaths of non-human animals...

..... I already feel pain daily for our non-human Earthling brothers and sisters and what they are suffering at the hands of humans. Everyday there is another reason to hate humans....

It's one of the truest statements. We love to work on others, but are shit with working on ourselves.

Amazing quote from an amazing man.

Omitted hate from my vocabulary about 10 years ago. Have tried to remove it altogether but not certain I have. I try to understand why people do the things they do and can sympathise with most. And as you posted, I mostly just feel sad and alone most days.

I recently went through a pretty rough break up from a long time friend and relationship. Neither of us had been very happy for quite some time but he was very upset and filled with hatred for quite a while and I couldn't understand why. Obviously he wasn't happy that the relationship was ending but he just seemed to harbor so much hatred towards me personally. There was no "fault" to place on either of us so his extreme feelings towards me really hurt my feelings! I couldn't take it anymore and when I confronted him about the way he was treating me he admitted that he was in a great deal of pain! I was very sad but he was feeling it on a much deeper level. Even though I didn't relate I did understand so when I read this it really hit home with me!
