I had thought about this. I think the answer is to legalize gay marriage in China. This does require some explanation...

If they allow gay marriage, make it so that if a family fives birth to a girl, they can give it up for adoption to be raised by a gay couple, and try again for the desired male child. I thought o fthis back when the "one child per family" rule was still in effect.

Of course, the problem is that the Chinese government is run by Marxists, and Karl Marx was a homophobe, and traditionally in China, gays are still expected to marry (the opposite sex) and have families in the traditional way. Between those two thing, my proposed solution is unlikely to be ever tried in China, at least in our lifetimes.
