Show of hands. Who would rather go to the mountains than the beach? Anyone else?

If I want the beach experience I'll throw some sand in my underwear and my lunch, sit in front of a fan and try to light a cigarette. Gimme the woods any day

For my whole life, I would’ve said beach. But this spring I visited Alaska and it was AMAZING. I have a new appreciation for mountains!

I live on the beach, so I love going to the mountains. It's cooler, air smells fresh, it's grounding, and I love hiking. I live on an island where the mountains and ocean are all within a few minutes of where ever I am at any given moment. I love them both. Back on the mainland, I used to love going to the mountains and paddling a rubber raft in the lakes. It's all beautiful!

Beach in the late spring, summer and early fall. Mountain in the early spring, late fall and winter. It all about the bugs to me.

Wow mountains by a... landslide...? ahhhh save yourselves!

Right now, I'm in the mountains more doing biking. Maybe next year both. I'm only 5 miles from the beach, and hope by next year to be on a new standup paddleboard out in the surf.

Love the ocean, but the mountains call me.

I’m definitely a mountain girl. My grandparents had a house on a small lake in the NC mountains when I was growing up and I hated it there because there was no phone or tv reception. Boring. As I’ve gotten older I realize how wonderful that sounds and I get why all the adults in my life loved it there.

Shark Week is enough for me. Take me to the timberline!

I hate the beach. It's hot. I don't like wearing swimsuits. You get sand all over.

I love tidepools, but I sunburn too easily to like the beach. Of course the mountains get lots of bad weather, but they also get lots of flowers and animals.

I really like both for different reasons.

To me, the top of a mountain and being at an ocean beach illicit the same reaction. It's almost spiritual.

You see out to the horizon, and you realize that this is just a tiny speck of nothing in the middle of a world that is far more vast than our brain is ready to process. That world is just a tiny speck, invisible in the cosmos. It makes you feel ... I don't know, connected? Like your problems are insignificant, your worries pointless.

The beach wins for me for one reason. Have you ever slept by the seaside? Kick open a window or the door to your balcony and fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing into the shore? I've never slept better.

Also mountains are fucking cold, lol.

I'll take the beach, thank you!

Mountains. No question.

I'm prejudiced as I live in the mountains.

Depends on the mountains.

I hated the big mountains like in Colorado. I feel at home and ease in the Ozark mountains, though.

I hate the beach too. Cannot stand the feel of sand and it never goes away. Plus when I was 12 I went to Florida and got caught in the undertow while body surfing and almost drowned. Haven't set foot near the ocean since then

Both, beaches more so.

Sandcastles, visual waves, wildlife, sounds, sun tan, smells, most of all sexy bathing suits and walking artwork.

To be honest I live in the Pacific Northwest and we're just surrounded by ocean water im not a big fan of saltwater it's very cold and (in my opinion) smells bad I much prefer the mountains cuz that's where the snow is in the winter and I like snowboarding

Honestly I like both.
I grew up in the mountains.
Now I live on the beach.
To me they both have their merits.

I live in the mountains, so life is pretty damned fine.

I like being more active

I love the beach. Walking along the wet sand during sunrise and sunsets, collecting shells...playing in the warm water...scuba diving and snorkeling. I own more bathing suits than I do jeans!

I can get to the mountains in less than an hour for a weekend getaway when I am tired of the beach...which is almost never.

Mountains have lakes without sharks or jellyfish or sea urchins...

I live in mountains and I do love the beach. Always nice to come home, though.
