Show of hands. Who would rather go to the mountains than the beach? Anyone else?

Sand and sunburn? No thanks!

I hate sand. So much more fun to take the dogs on hikes

Us visionaries prefer the loftiest peaks, upon which to meditate, and postulate upon Worldly affairs, past, present, and future! Also, I just plain love the view!

Both. I would also include polar regions and deserts and say, all four.

I live right above the beach, but I love looking and driving toward the mountains, with the hiking and fresh (unsalty) air. Living on a small island, either is only a few minutes away where every I am! I have the best of both worlds in that respect.

I voted beach because I haven’t been in maybe 10 years or more.

I live in the mountains so beach would be a welcome change of scenery. And, I love the sound of the ocean. The waves. The gulls. Miss it

The beach is wonderful. Then again. I'm biased

Well, I showed my hand, but I didn't see it counted in the poll!

The beach is only two minutes walk away so I'd have to pick the mountains as that would be an adventure to get to 🙂

The mountains are very beautiful but I enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, seagulls flying in the air and the taste of salt on my lips. There is not where else so peaceful than a deserted beach with only you, the sand, sun and water. Very relaxing.

Sand, mozzies, greasy suntan oil, greasier tourists, blazing unremitting sun. Or cool, scenic , open uplands? Duh??

No brainer ... Mountains! Mountains! Mountains!

We have both in a very short distance... I could conceivably do both in the same day.

I’m definitely a mountain girl. My grandparents had a house on a small lake in the NC mountains when I was growing up and I hated it there because there was no phone or tv reception. Boring. As I’ve gotten older I realize how wonderful that sounds and I get why all the adults in my life loved it there.

I am surrounded by both. I ask what can one do at the beach, besides launch a kayak. I much prefer a hike in the mountains.

2

Mountains. For pretty much exactly the same reason HippieChick gave.

Where the water meets the sand is one-dimensional; mountains are three-D.

2

Mountains of course !

1

Mountains over beach. Definatley more of an earth than water person. I feel more connected to the mountains.

3

Mountains , cabins and fire pits are where it is at.

2

I enjoy both but since I live near the beach. There is nothing like the beach air and sound of the waves. Now a log cabin in the mountains is not a bad thing either.
