Here's a hypothetical question an ex-friend put to me about a year or two ago.

"If I needed your help to bury/ hide a dead body would you help me?"

His premise is that a true friend would help. My reply was a true friend wouldn't put a friend in that situation.

If it were me I'd say. "Listen don't ask me any questions. Can I borrow a shovel?"

After explaining why I wouldn't help him he said, "But you know me!" I replied, "I thought I did."

This is why I'm not a practitioner of the practice of loyalty. Too many people interpret it to mean blind, universal support. Smacks of frat boy mentality.

Shouldn't you just be happy you are not the body?

Reminds me of that song (based on a real story apparently):

...in my view you're totally right, btw.

No, but there is a certain neighbor.....

A variation on the above is 'A friend will help you move, a good friend will help you move a body'

I have a couple of friends who would do it for me and I in return would do it for them. For me there is no moral or ethical dilemma.

'There is no try, only do' That was my bad Yoda impression 🙂

@maturin1919 I knew someone here would put me right 🙂
