When I lost my child right before the due date - it is God’s plan.

jab60 Level 6 Aug 6, 2018

@Storybook it was a long time ago but you never forget.
Thanks

@Storybook had two beautiful children

I despise that phrase.
Thoughtless, tactless, meaningless and infuriating, but you are supposed take it as comforting.
given the premise there is a god then
If it is true God is a Bastard
If it is false God is a negligent bastard

The one i find the most annoying is “I just don’t feel like God is pulling me in that direction right now”. Instead of just saying “No. I don’t want to”

5

Thoughts and prayers...makes me want to puke. Don’t know if this qualifies as religious but... they’ve gone to a better place. I just hate it.

Thoughts and prayers

yeah that's a great excuse for sanctimoniously doing fuck all, that one

4

Patriot; Thoughts and prayers; I didn't say it, God said it; All thing happen for a reason;

3

Miracle. CBS throws this word around like it is a fact or something equally tangible. I want to put my foot through the TV every time I hear it. 😕

3

BLESSED! As in "blessed day''......yuch!

I'd go for a real Blessed day if it was to commemorate this guy, the great Brian Blessed (as Vultan, king of the Hawkmen)

3

" it's god's will "

" thoughts and (F- in) prayers "

" have a blessed (damn) day "

"god loves you " (yeah, right...)

3

“God blessed our union with children”........No, you and your partner had sexual intercourse and that is the usual consequence, as it is throughout the animal kingdom!

3

'I'll pray for you." Someone just said that to me this morning. Just tell me good luck or that I'm a bomb ass human being capable of anything I stick my mind to, so I don't even need luck.

Boom.

I'll pray for you

You do that and Ill sick my pink ballet dancing unicorn on you, in his Armoured assault vehicle that shoot out explosive chamber pots full of peppermint ringworm souffle

hashtag-blessed

God gave you that gift.

Even the Devil can cite scripture

love that one, in other words (Actually reading the bible is cheating you know!" )

2

Sin
Hellfire
Atonement
Salvation/Saviour
Collection plate/offertory

The whole basis of Christianity in 5 words

How about these words? Oppression, obsession, repression....

2

Satan invented jobs, holds worldwide knowledge, curiosity, loves sex and money.

Those ideas might convert me.

2

Miracle.

2

Salvation - the ultimate marketing ploy. A product created to meet a non-existent need.

2

Prayer.

2

"Saved".

LOL

2

Salvation..grace..glory..sacrifice ..sin.

They seem to be Christian favourites.. ?

2

When someone discusses something complex and horrifying: Prayers.

2

God is good.
The devil is a liar.

2

“God operates in mysterious ways” and “It all happens for a reason!”

Man! Those piss me off! ?

Some of us are trying to remove the words with religious connotations from our vocabulary. words as soul, spiritual and a lot of others I can't think of at the moment. We try to find secular replacements. One thing I feel is very important is to remove the word less from some of our language: Childless and godless should be child free and god free. Free is much more positive than less.

2

Salvation (it's not coffee, sorry)
Baptism ("baptized by fire" is cool; otherwise nah)
Enlightenment (just don't)
Yoga (my ears are bleeding)
Nirvana (if you're not Kurt Cobain, GTFO)
Buddha (unintelligible growling)
Bodhi (how many little boys are running around with this name who will never know that it means "awakening"??)
