It is now proven that our deadliest spider does not jump, it simply runs and lunges at you. One variety however can live 90 feet up in trees and drop on you.
For those of you worried about attack from females of the funnel web their venom does not kill.

Well why do they always lunge at you?
I don't have this fear at all. Though I do worry it's some kind of mental deficiency on my part and I'll probably spend my last days trapped in gluey silk being drunk to death. I don't mean the fun type of being drunk, I mean being drunk as in what happens to tasty drinks!

I never grew up with a fear of spiders. Since then I had a spider CHASE ME (well, run in my direction, but still)! I respect them more now.

Most are harmless and shouldn’t induce fear in us, but there are some in tropical climes which are deadly. Maybe they have already cottoned on!
