Abingdon's Library is thrilled to have author and journalist BETH MACY speaking on her book DOPESICK this SUNDAY! It deals with the opioid crisis in SW VA, is set in near-bye Roanoke, and has received wide acclaim. Just as an aside, b/c I work with the public professionally, I have received nalaxone training. I'm also working with a coalition of heath care workers to have public employees, such as transit drivers and school teachers, also receive this. But we getting a strong amount of resistance, even though this demonstrably saves lives.
