I often think how there really is no inherent meaning to life, particularly for people as ourselves who realize there's no superior being, except that meaning which any of us give to it ourselves.

Does there have to be a meaning to life? If we examine our life, would we find purpose? Would that purpose have meaning? Who or how many would we enrich in some manner? Who would we hurt and forever change? Perhaps the meaning of life is to live and to learn. To what end, I cannot say. However, if I had to wish, I would wish that upon the shedding my meat suit, my energy would somehow find its way to a thought theater. What would you wish for?

Yup. We are the gods of our own lives, LOL!

There’s pleanty of meaning, but the meaning is in the present moment and new meaning arises as each moment unfolds, what I think actually bothers people is that meaning is temporary.

Make your own meaning, the purpose is to enjoy it.
If there wasn't our own unique meaning we wouldn't find enjoyment in anything, no contentment, no comfort. Experience is in itself the purpose of existence. All the sensations that make up our lives.

Yep, exactly; I agree!

Still better that you can give your life meaning than rely on some schmuck to determine it for you.

So what? There's plenty of extrinsic meaning to find or make. That's all anyone has actually ever had in the history of humanity anyway.

Absolutely! Didn't mean to imply otherwise!! 🙂
