I don't believe in hooey. By that I mean I'm more cynical than I'd like to be. Some people say there is a person out there for everyone. Well, I'm not so sure about that. I want a relationship, but I'm not into super sweet stuff right off the bat if you know what I mean. If a man acts like he loves me or is infatuated with me too quickly, I back off. Is this normal? Probably not...

I don't believe in fate. I don't believe in love at first sight...or second sight...hell, who knows how long it takes!

There are plenty of folks that become spooked with instant love - me included. The last guy I met was totally infatuated within the first week, and dropped hints about living together. "oh no ya don't " said my inner voice ! I have since placed him gently into the friend zone, with a high probability of remaining there...

However, for any relationship to get off the ground - one needs to believe it CAN happen in the first place. Cynicism can kill off the best of possibilities.

Sometimes in life things happen when least expected. Falling in love is a chemical reaction to another....when it happens it is heady stuff. I may be old but not too old to remember the heart-thumping anticipation of seeing my husband when we first started going out together. The intoxication of being in his presence, and yes it was probably love at first sight! This state of euphoria didn’t last of course, it never can, but it grew into something more mature and lasting. I know not everyone’s experience of finding a mate reflects mine and some romances are slow burners. I believe there are lots of compatible mates for us out there, it is all a matter of being able to find one of them. Good luck in finding someone to share your life with, sometimes love does just come along and take you by surprise!

They tend to be more in love with the idea of love or the person they imagine you are .Both are very bad signs

I don't ascribe to the belief that there is someone for everyone definitively. I suspect a certain number of us are either too self-centered, cynical, or emotionally scarred to connect with someone intimately in a healthy way. As well, I believe some of us are wired--for whatever reason--not to spend all our lives with just one person. I do believe in intrigue, fascination, and even chemistry at first sight or soon after. But love, well... the real thing takes some time and effort.
