I am very angry at the AARP Foundation as I write this. I have been in their Senior Community Service Employment Program since Halloween, 2016. I told rhem right away about the volunteer work I do. I have been without an assignment since the end of May. I told them once again about my volunteer work. Recently, I have had discussions about having the place where I volunteer become my Host Agency. I talked to my Employment Representative, and she was all for it. There's been a couple of events at my potential host agency that had prevented anyone from moving the process forward. I received a call from my Representative today, telling me that she hasn't located an assignment. I reminded her about our conversation, and she scolded me for doing any volunteer work, denied that I talked to her, and all but threatened to take me off the program. I'm going to talk to my Host agency's director this week to see about moving my getting back to paid work forward. I've had run-ind with the AARP Rep and her Director in the past. I can't wait, though for some other funding or a permanent job to come through, so that I can leave that program forever. I am so longer giving a dime to the AARP Foundation. I will soon write to them to tell them why. Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent.

i cannot clearly separate, from your story, whether the organization is at fault or whether this difficult person or people is/are at fault. is this an aarp problem or an aarp employee problem, and if the latter, shouldn't that person's (the director's) supervisor be told so that she/they can be investigated and perhaps chastised or even fired?

I’m very sorry to hear about your AARP problem. I do hope that at some early date you will get it resolved and be able to get back to happier times.

Don't fully understand but doesn't sound too good, get some recordings next time you speak to them like omarosa did ?

in most states (i think it's state by state anyway) it is illegal to record people without their permission or without at least informing them.

@genessa oh yeah, so what..

@sellinger oh okay, sorry to bother you with little things like, you know, the law. and all.

g

@genessa apology accepted...

@sellinger it wasn't a real apology. please do not accept it.

g

@genessa too late, already accepted and I'm not giving it back. ?

@sellinger i don't need it back lol i would've preferred that it was understood for what it was, but if you don't get it, i can't help that.

g

@genessa I get it lol I recognize sarcasm just kidding with you a bit

Always get business promises in writing, preferably signed.
Always.

Good luck, and I don't blame you for being upset.
