In the past few months I’ve taken to country music. I’ve found two stations on my radio that plays all the latest stuff, and I’ve already found that there are subjects and images that seem to pop up a LOT:

Cut off jeans.
Bibles in one hand and something like a gun or booze in the other.
Bars.
Picking up girls or guys in bars.
Booze.
Small towns.
Being drunk...

All this from two months in. Is this the recent music or is it the same as I do a deep dive?

I liked country music 40 years ago but like everything else it too has become politicized and with very few exemptions I can't stand to listen to it anymore. Of course I too was a different person 40 years ago.

Todays "country music" ain't! Get yourself some stuff from the Golden Age, late 50's through early 70's...Charlie Rich, Loretta, etc etc etc

That's why I don't listen to it.

I like some kinds of country music, but not so much the "bro country" that seems to be on the popular stations. I like some of the old stuff, which has some of the same subjects, and alt country, which varies a lot more in subject.
