I am still not old enough. Cant keep track of my keys, so a gun is out of the question.

How about raising the age to go to war and die? Seems pretty stupid you can be a parent of a 3 year old (or maybe older depending on your state's age of consent laws), have went to war and come back with sever emotional and physical traumas, but you're not considered mature enough to handle alcohol.

How about government protecting our children in these government mandated education camps? How about school admins take action against bullying students. How about instead of us spending over 50% of our budget on military and a foreign policy that does more harm than good, we up an percent or two to educating and protecting our kids at home? Or maybe even tackling our mental health problem in this country?

I think there are a lot of other things we can do that would have better and immediate results instead of spinning our wheels on gun legislation, esp. since most of what has been proposed wouldn't have made any difference in the shooting sprees that have happened in the past few years anyway.

I truly fear our government more than I do a random mentally disturbed person shooting or stabbing me.

We don't have guns here in the UK, well we don't have the access to guns the same way and we don't have mass shootings, so it seems a simple enough thing to solve. Getting a gun license here is difficult unless you have a good reason good mental health and a clean record.

@psycheworks So what? According to this article, there are countries that have no gun laws and very low crime rates. Switzerland is just one example. BTW, the latest school attack I saw on the news here in the US was a kid with a knife. So no, it is not a "simple enough thing to solve".

Also, according to this, a lot of your crime rates in Britain are only slightly lower than the US. Mass shootings are bad, and happen way too often in the USA, but not having guns obviously hasn't done away with crime for you. Extrapolating the argument that doing away guns in the USA would solve mass shooting problems here is a falicy. You do realize we share a 3100km border with Mexico? Drugs come in all the time. Prohibition in the 20's empowered the mafia, now the drug prohibition has only empowered criminal cartels in central/south america, and some of the most bloody and criminal activity occurs in the border towns. Do you honestly think a prohibition on guns would accomplish anything positive?

Perhaps to 65? That should nip the shooting sprees in the bud.

I was thinking 90.

I don't think that will help for illegal firearms purchases.

@TheGreatShadow Sure it will, just shoot on sight anybody under 65 with a gun in their hands. BOOM! Illegal guns will be too damned dangerous to own unless you're a senior citizen.
