An update on dealing with Schizo-affective disorder.
I had a great session with my therapist this morning.
He's seen a bit of improvement in me, and I feel the same.
the rapport between the two of us has been more helpful than any therapist I've ever had.
Most of the ones I've seen before I didn't stay with for long.
They would give me a pamphlet on my disorder, tell me to read it. and that is as far as it went.
With the one I have now, our approach is just taking one problem, or something I have difficulty with, work on it in baby stems until it becomes routine..
I still have a long way to go, but feeling good about myself, and not being as suicidal as much is something even I have noticed.
And that helps me feel good about myself.
The rapport I've had with a therapist has always been one of the most important things when working with one. I wish more people understood that. Even if the therapist is good, you're not going to get help if you can't connect with them. I'm glad you found someone who can help you.
