What do you think? Is it fair that the tax payers pay for farmers hurt by trumps tariffs? There are thousands of companies being hit with an additional 25% tariff tax that will be passed along to the tax payers already.

The Trump administration is bypassing Congress by paying for the aid with a Depression-era program, sparing vulnerable Republicans a tough vote before the November midterm elections. This initial $4.7 billion is planned as part of an overall $12 billion in aid to farmers,

I'm involved with electrical storage and we should build new production lines here. However, these plants require large capital investments. The Chinese are willing to spend millions in state of the art highly automated production lines. Most American battery manufacturers are busy giving top officers big bonuses and investors dividends rather than looking to five or ten years down the line. The other thing is a reluctance on the part of our government to accept renewable energy as the future to power America and the world. Energy storage is key to this transition. We seem to be stuck in the fossil fuel era of the 1900s. The US is the only country in the world to opt out of the Paris climate agreement. Think Koch Bros. and trump. China is forward thinking and will benefit from it no matter trumps tariffs.

NO. Trump makes crazy laws and we pay for them.

Farmers as a whole don’t give a damn whether or not they pollute the land, the air, and the water, and refuse to take responsibility for their actions. The Farm Bureau, Farm Manufacturers, and Agricultural chemical companies use their influence to help farmers in their rape of the land, air and water. Greed is what they have in common. They need to be restrained.

Most farms are the large corporate-owned business. Able to afford their own lobbyists.

I don't think we should bail out farmers. I think farmers are over rated. They are depleting our soil, and using up a nonrenewable ground water resource. The world is already over populated, and the food we produce, and export is not aiding in the decline of the population. Farmers don't have to pay minimum wage or work mans comp. The ones I know are financially really well off in SE Idaho. The don't treat the migrant workers fairly.

I concur! I will also add that the monoculture practice is also causing top soil depletion.

@gsiamne We are on the same wave🙂 I could write a book on this subject. I think the government needs to lay rules down on the ag industry to protect our resources. I don't much like the ranchers either. Their irresponsible grazing has ruined thousands of trout streams. I am so trying not get worked up about this🙂

The reciprocatory ag tariffs by China is meant to punish trumps mid-state support. So trump is bailing out his base. Thousands of other companies are being taxed an additional 25% including myself. I import large electrical storage batteries that are not available in the US. These additional costs will be passed on to the end user.

@rogueflyer We should make them here😉

@rogueflyer Right now it sucks to be a red blooded American. There are so many things wrong right now with our system I don't no where to start. I say make America great Again!
