That was just stupid. Let's get everyone all in a panic over nothing. No hurricane. just a light breeze here last night. not even any rain. so now when a real one hits nobody is going to take the warnings seriously. somebody should be getting fired for hitting the panic button. wasting all these resources and people's time. just stupid.

Better being warned and be prepared than not knowing at all. We have been taking weather forecasting for granted a little too much in the last decade. It is still somewhat a guessing game at the micro level. There is so much energy in these storms that they are not uniform in intensity.
Florence is right behind Gordon and now a Cat 3 hurricane (predicted to get worst).

Weather men and women are expected to give out the most damning situations and possibilities.
I have found doing my own weather, using their radars is more accurate, and up to date.
