I've always been a fan of YouTube, but in recent months, it's become almost impossible to watch, given the proliferation of advertisements that pop up frequently, creating a break in the continuity of the video you're attempting to watch. This is especially annoying if you're in the midst of watching a musical performance. Of course, you can elect to pay for YouTube and avoid being subjected to ads, but with greed running amok, it's come to the point that everything has a price tag, and the public is being milked dry. For me, it would be acceptable for YouTube to place ads at the periphery of the video viewing area and not obscure content, but the present state of affairs reeks of abject avarice. I could enact a boycott of one, but what good would that do? Any suggestions? In the meantime, I'm going to research who the actual owners of YouTube are. Weren't they purchased by Google or some such entity? Okay, Just looked it up: Google bought the site in November 2006 for US $1.65 billion. Hmm . . . L this explains a lot. Footnote: I've now tried to contact Google to complain, but they've built a fortress around the folks who could actually effect changes at YouTube and Google's other venues. I'm disgusted.

adblock plus works great in that regard. no more ads! it is free, through the chrome app store.

I have that as well. However, a lot of sights will block you as well. In which case I just move on. I've yet to find a Website so important it's worth being held hostage to their greed and avarice.
