I love Canada. Here in STL we're still having hot weather in the upper 80s. I just want fall all the time. Give me 60-70° during the day and 40-50° at night!

I'll never complain about MN winters again!

I think MN gets more snow than we do though.

@graceylou maybe but it's 80 right now. Do you have longer winters?

@JazznBlues Yes. Normally October to April or May.

@graceylou I hope you travel south for vacations.

All mosquitoes vanish after the snow shows up.

They have been gone here for awhile.

@graceylou . They must have read the forecast.

@OldGoat43 Even the birds have flown south early.

After 2 worst fire seasons on record here in BC, I'll take the cold thanks.

Rain would’ve been ok. Didn’t need the snow.

@graceylou We seldom get rain where I am. We now seem to get summer & winter, no spring or fall.

@Lilac-Jade I have been in your area before. I think most of us here are still in the process of preparing for winter. Some farmers haven't cut their fields yet. As for fires, we had to deal with the Fort McMurray fires a couple of years ago. At that same time, there were three brush fires surrounding our place. It was a horrible year.

@graceylou Yes, Ft. McMurray was such a fright, & we here actually learned from that for our mass evacuation last year. Our whole city was evacuated, so we headed north on school buses to our son's place in Prince George with our 2 cats. He had 5 cats & a dog, at the time.

@Lilac-Jade We were bracing for the fires to move farther south. Luckily it did not get too far. But we mobilized everything to help out. I ended up fostering an evacuee's chinchilla for a month or so. Few people know chinchilla care so I offered to take on her chinchilla (I had 7 chinchillas of my own then).

@Lilac-Jade I did a dig in Barkerville and camped out in the area for 2 months back in the 90s. We went into Quesnel and Wells often. We also went to Williams Lake, Prince George, and as far as Bella Coola.

@graceylou Thank you, & to all people who have helped us all as well.....firefighters, Red Cross, volunteers, bus drivers, & especially the driver who lifted me onto the bus because the stairs were too high for me. I was waiting for hip replacement last year, & am waiting for the other one needing done this year.

That looks like the perfect amount of snow! Around here, it's enough to start shutting things down (wimps!), the kids and pets play in it and then it's gone - at least for a while.

Well, we are a winter people so we are always prepared for this sort of thing. Not all places would be as equipped.

It will be 107 here this weekend, again.

I will take the snow, thanks.

I know right! Feels like it went from +30 directly to winter..

It's too crazy, but we are used to crazy weather, no? Hey, my best friend lives in Leduc.

@graceylou like they say.. if you don't like the weather in Alberta.. just wait an hour lol

@hippydog in this case I think it might be a longer wait.

I kind of knew when we had days in August when the temperatures only got to the mid 60's Fahrenheit, that this was/is going to be a cold winter this year. Even so average global temperatures are still rising. Climate change means more extremes on both ends.

I am in the Pacific Northwest near the Washington/Oregon border No snow here yet.

I lived on the BC Coast and we never got too much snow, may be late November to February, but the snow melts a few days after snowfall. Here, the snow usually stays for months.

@graceylou It snowed on my one visit to B.C. and to top it off I got a really bad cold Still I was not so sick I did not appreciate the beauty of hte area.

Down here near the Oregon Washington border near Portland, it may snow once or twice year, but snow usualy melts pretty fast here. I m told that back before the 1960's it snowed a lot more. Climate change evidently has been happening for quite a long time.

1

Wow! It’s a bit early for that. How early do you normally get snowfall?

Usually, sometime in October. But we've never had the same winter twice.

@graceylou Yes I can understand that!

@Marionville We've had beach weather in mid-December. We've had snow in June.

@graceylou Crazy! Sounds like the cue for a song.....

@Marionville We have had days where it's in the upper 20s C one day and within 24 hours it's in the -20s C. You just never know.

It's a balmy breezy day with a bit of rain here. Ok admittedly the breeze is close to 100 mph and the rain may float the house away but it's still better than snow.
Tom
Southern Virginia. ?

I don't know, rain and wind might be worse than snow that isn't going to stay for too long. It will warm up again by next week.

@graceylou
Not as bad as Canada but I grew up in Boston and I personally hate every snowflake. Yup, all of them. ?

@Anonbene Me too!!!! I get stressed out seeing just a few flakes.

2

You are still really talented and pretty! ?

I shrivel and wilt when it's cold and snowy.

@graceylou l like cold weather. I don't like fridged weather. Part of me definitely shriveles when it is cold. ?

@Sticks48 I like cold weather too. But I hate snow. And September is early even for us here.

@graceylou When l lived in Taos, it was pretty consistent year to year. When l lived in Denver/Colo Springs it wasn't. The first year it was in the 70's in Jan, and in the fourth year it was twelve below zero f.

At least it means cuddle season is there! Nice fire and drinks!

Haha. No. I work everyday. But I do cuddle with furry animals.
