I am Partial to the Vampire Myth but... Come on man! In case you guys don't know many world class distance runners used a similar approach and procedure... weeks before a race will remove pints of blood to be transfered back right before the race... the more blood in the body, the more oxygen can be moved around and pumped during a race. Now is cheating but russians and americans did it for years and years. Cyclists did it too.
