Brazen sexism is pushing women out of America’s atheism movement — Quartz
[qz.com] I wonder what my fellow single women feel about this.

Oh for F sake,
I am getting sick of this constant victim mentality from everyone, everyone wants a bit of the sympathy pie, because they are men, women, religion, of an ethnicity, gender variation, have an unpopular hair colour, body size, height, or are so without problems that it is a problem.
Grow up and deal with it, there are people who are suffering real victimisation in this world and they are DYING, being tortured maimed, imprisoned and being forced to undergo quack medical cures.
These are the people who have a right to complain, in our western affluent society, there is greater freedom and tolerance today than there has ever been, if someone thinks they are better than you because of what is dangling between their legs or what colour it is, they are an ass-hole and you are free to tell them so, but if you go running to mummy or big brother crying because you have a boo-boo on your ego, you're as much of an attention hungry fool as they are.

@orange_girl You did notice that I did not say women alone, I addressed my comments to those who use attention seeking victim mentality generally.
There was nothing flippant in my statement, and having been married twice, being the father of a daughter, being the uncle of a niece, grandfather of two grand daughters, who I have raised, having been a son, grandson and nephew I have no shortage of point of view of women's lived experiences and I can say with out a doubt that this kind of playing the martyr is the experience only of a minority.
My niece was badly and violent attacked by a man, I was a victim of spousal abuse for five years, we neither of us blame or expect such behaviour from all members of the opposite sex and therefore do not judge someone just by their gender.
My Daughter is managing director of a firm of security guards of all genders and sexual orientation running her own successful business she takes no sexism from anyone and will not tolerate false claims of it from any one, she is a strong independent successful woman of whom I am justly proud and deals with stupidity immediately and definitely without resorting to whinging and whimpering about being a helpless victim of nasty rough men, and refusing to come back until they are made to go away, in point of fact she is more likely to throw them out until they learn to stop being childish.
SO before you throw glib statements like "I suppose it's this kind of flippant attitude toward's women's lived experiences" at me or any other men, you would do well to remember we too have a life time of lived experiences with women we love dearly and who love us in return.
Thank you for your attention if you have bothered to read this post to the end.

I do not believe this for one moment..strong, independent-thinking women just ignore idiots like those described, and go merrily on their path!
