Even though I am an atheist I love taking pictures of churches. There is something about seeing a small obviously poor village with the largest building being a church. Here are a few church’s I have taken pictures of while on my travels.

I do too - I'm not religious and don't even have Christian ancestry, but as a historian and due to my interest in art, architecture and folklore, churches fascinate me.

Here are some pics (and history) from a few churches I've visited recently... [agnostic.com] [agnostic.com] [agnostic.com] [agnostic.com] [agnostic.com]

Cool churches. I prefer the glittering Thai Buddhist temples, of course.

  1. temple in Songkhla, Thailand
  2. temple at a school where I taught near Ranot, Thailand
  3. temple north of Songkhla
  4. Buddha statues in temple near the beach, Songkhla

I love the grandeur of old churches, especially those with massive stained glass windows but whenever I see some poor village sporting a massive cathederal thing, I just feel sorry for all the stupid believers who sacrificed food, time and their health "donating" time and money to its building.

When I travel, especially to Europe one of my favorite things to do is explore old church's and cathedrals.
