Some more atrocious "advice " from the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses for domestic abuse victims. Pray more, be a better wife, be more submissive, leave it in Jehovah's hands. Basically stay put. It's really the victims fault. This is in a recent watchtower magazine and is getting a lot of attention in some countries. And thankfully it's being exposed as really dangerous which of course it is. How arrogant to publish this in a magazine that can be read by the public.

A lot of fundamentalist belief systems and cults (and I feel JW is a cult) place the blame on the victim for whatever has happened to them. I have heard similar things from ex-Scientologists -- their response is, you need more auditing -- hence, more money in their pockets.

It is worse than arrogant but no more so than what the others in the religious world say. This is why I have no sympathy for those who have left the false religion but are still searching frantically for the one true religion.

I agree, it's like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Yup, because facial scars & head trauma are pleasing to gawd......

People don't realize how harmful they are....from discouraging kids/teenagers to get a proper education to subjecting women to abuse and terror in the name of marriage, their policies are harmful and destructive.
Any religion that relies on the belief that women are inferior...and believes being LGBT is a "sin"... should be classified as a hate group.

I left watchtower 25 year's ago and you are right. It is a very dangerous and destructive cult. It's record on covering up and enabling child abuse is appaling. I lost my wife and kids, my home and life as I knew it because of their inhumane dogma. They allow people to die needlessly with the ban on blood transfusions. They are misogynistic, homophobic, anti education and micro manage adherents lives to the nth degree.
